Any modern office or department needs to have its computers
linked together in a network. "Internal" networks
and Intranets can
be difficult to set up. Hauling wires around the office
and through false ceilings and floors is not as straightforward
as it seems. Routing a wire near the wrong device or
appliance can result in a link that will never properly
connect. There are also safety considerations to be
considered, not the least of which is accidental electrocution
from network wiring that parallels electrical service.
Often, a wireless network is the better choice for
an office network. Desks and computers can be relocated
with ease and without the necessity of rewiring the
building to accommodate the moves. New computers and
printers can be "plugged in" in minutes instead
of days. With modern wireless equipment, your office
can be just as secure as if you were using wires, without
the hassle.
