Broadband Comes to Fife Heights in western Washington state
Posted on Feb.3, 2005

noWYR, a western Washington Internet carrier, announced today that Fife and the surrounding area can now subscribe to innexpensive, high-speed broadband Internet access. "If you can see our tower north of 8th St. NE between 59th Avenue Ct. NE and 62nd Ave NE, you can probably subscribe to this service." said a spokesman for the company.

The new noWYR installation provides service to:

  • Adelaide
  • Edgewood
  • Federal Way
  • Fife
  • Fife Heights
  • Fircrest
  • Indian Hill area (facing SE
  • Jovita
  • Lakeland
  • Midland
  • Milton
  • Puyallup
  • Puyallup South Hill (north)
  • Tacoma (NE near Tide Flats)
  • University Place
  • Waller

In general, if you are within 10 miles of their access point and they can mount one of their modems so that it can "see" the tower, potential subcribers can probably receive service.

noWYR offers: DSL equivalents from 256 Kbps - 1.5 Mbps, T1 line replacements, VoIP. Faster speeds are available.

Where is the Fife Heights tower?
